Imara Social Work Ltd is directed by Maria Hargreaves, a qualified social worker since 2008.

I founded Imara in 2016 in the desire to create a more personal and impactful approach to social work. I personally undertakes all the commissioned work, ensuring this is delivered to the highest standard. I holds dual registration with Social Work England and Social Care Wales, and my professional achievements include:

• BSc Honours in Social Work, Bath University
• Consolidating Social Work Practice, Bournemouth University
• Advanced Practice with Adults at Risk, University of West England
• Purchasing and Commissioning, Oxford Brookes University

My career has encompassed diverse roles working as an Advanced Practitioner in Children and Young People Disability Teams, Adult Learning Disability Teams, Autism Specific Services and Generic Adult Care. Beyond direct practice, I have also worked at a strategic level as a commissioner in public services, leading on many initiatives including a county wide autism strategy.
