Imara Social Work Ltd is directed by Maria Hargreaves, a qualified social worker since 2008. She founded Imara in 2016 in the desire to create a more personal and impactful approach to social work. Maria personally undertakes all the commissioned work, ensuring this is delivered to the highest standard. Maria holds dual registration with Social Work England and Social Care Wales, and her professional achievements include:

Maria's career has encompassed diverse roles working as an Advanced Practitioner in Children and Young People Disability Teams, Adult Learning Disability Teams, Autism Specific Services and Generic Adult Care. Beyond direct practice, Maria has also worked at a strategic level as a commissioner in public services, leading on many initiatives including a county wide autism strategy.
